Special Programs for “Littles” 2-5

We’ve planned four special programs for our youngest Summer Reading Program members. Each “Littles” program features a read-aloud story segment, a craft, an activity and a snack.

Registration is required for each program. Please call the library (877-8174) if your child is unable to attend a program for which he/she is registered. Because of the popularity of these programs, we often have children on a waiting list who could attend if there is an opening.

Littlest Heroes
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday
June 8, 2005 Ages 2-5.
Pre-registration required.

Heroes come in all sizes, from the very largest like Paul Bunyan, to the very tiniest like the characters featured in this program. We’ll meet a taxi riding dog, a “super baby,” and would you believe a boy no bigger than a toothpick? We’ll try out some superhero stunts and make a hero’s medal to take home.

The House on Pooh Corner
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday
June 15, 2005 Ages 2-5.
Pre-registration required.

The Hundred Acre Wood is just the place to be on a lazy summer day, and its most famous resident, a bear named Winnie the Pooh, invites you to be his special guest for stories and fun. We’ll follow the bumblebees to Pooh’s favorite treat, and see if he can outsmart the bees for their honey. Keep a careful watch – you never know who might drop by the House on Pooh Corner.

Who’s Got the Blues Clues?
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday
June 22, 2005 Ages 2-5.
Pre-registration required.

What is Blue’s favorite game? – figuring out clues of course! And you can play along, just watch for the clues and figure out what stories Blue wants to hear. Wear BLUE for even more fun as we enjoy stories and a secret craft.

Royal Kids of Long Ago
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday
June 29, 2005 Ages 2-5.
Pre-registration required.

We’ll travel back in time to the days of kings and castles in a place called Storybook Land, where all kinds of magic and adventure are found. Enjoy enchanted tales of royalty (both human and not so human). Everyone becomes a royal when the princes and princesses are crowned.
